Srinagar, July 13, KDC: Pahalgam Development Authority (PDA) on Tuesday removed some portion of wood paneling of a top hotel at a famous tourist destination in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
Chief Executive Officer Pahalgam Development Authority (PDA), Masarat Hashim told news agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) that the Hotel Hilltop in Pahalgam has illegally painted an existing building from outside and it comes under repair and renovation permissions. We acted swiftly and removed the portion of paneling of the said hotel today.
He said that the hotel owner had already applied for permission for painting and was being informed that the application will be put in BOCA committee, but unfortunately they painted the hotel without proper permission framed by the Building Operation Control Authority (BOCA) and we acted today and demolished the paneling of the hotel.
Law is for everyone whether rich or poor, if they will not abide by law we will act, he said, adding that we only allow repair work of the hotels which have proper permission from the authorities, “he added.
General Manager of Hotel Hilltop Mohsin Bhat while talking to news agency Kashmir Dot Com refuted the allegations about the demolition of illegal construction. During the last harsh winter some part of paneling of the hotel got damaged and we only painted the said damaged portion, he said adding that on Tuesday a team of PDA officials removed some pieces of paneling as a punishment.
