Srinagar, June 18: Kashmir Pashmina traders on Friday constituted the body under the banner of ‘Kashmir Pashmina Association’ in capital city Srinagar.
Many members while speaking to the media said that Pashmina traders across the valley were continuously ignored by the government and we have formally announced the association and would work for the welfare of the Pashmina traders’ fraternity across the valley.
“We created this association for the well-being and growth of the sector, more than 10 lakh people are affiliated to this sector who have been suffering financial loss for years and were unheard. We have decided to come together on one platform so we could be taken on board before formulating any policy by the government”, said a trader Sahil Zaroo in Srinagar.
He said that the industry is on the verge of extinction and has urged the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to start an immediate hand holding of those who are connected to this sector.
