Srinagar, May 27, KDC: Clashes erupted in Anchar area of Kashmir capital Srinagar on Thursday morning after the City police Chief along with other police officers visited the area to inspect the implementation of Covid related SOPs and imposition of Corona curfew to combat the second wave of Covid-19.

Police sources told news agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) that police officials including SSP Srinagar, SP Hazratbal besides other officers held a meeting regarding the law and order problems and various crime issues in Police division Ahmad-Nagar.

They said that after concluding the meeting the police officials visited the shrine of Janab Sahab in Anchar locality of Srinagar to conduct guard checking and lockdown implementation there. But miscreants who had already gathered near the shrine pelted stones on the police party.

The police retaliated by firing some tear smoke shells to disperse the miscreants.

Latest reports reaching news agency KDC suggest that the situation is normal and under control in the area. Police has taken cognizance of the incident. (KDC)
