He said “It’s a shame for authorities that our people have to eat under candle lights in these modern times and that too during this sacred month”, he said.

As hundreds of areas are reeling under darkness across Kashmir, users took to social media so that the issue of “no electricity” gets noticed.

Citizens from HabbaKadal, Pattan, Lassipora area of Pulwama, Nillow area of Kulgam, Hakura Anantnag, Landoora Shopian, Lolab Kupwara, Rajwar Handwara, Kakapora Pulwama, Narwa Pulwama, Chadoora Budgam, Qamarwari Srinagar another scores of villages complained that the electric lamps in their areas don’t witness a single spark of electricity during Iftar and Sehri time, he claimed.

“I think we all are sailing in the same boat ….the originate of Electricity is Kashmir but unfortunately home of electricity /Kashmir remains without electricity this issue did not rise only in Ramadan even in whole year continuously but It should to be better if power cuts may be stopped during this Blessing month especially at the time of #Iftiyar and #Sehari …” wrote twitter user from Srinagar.

“From the very beginning of this holy month, it has started playing seek and hide, though it remains in times other than iftar and sehri, but very Precisely goes off at the time of Iftyaar and sehri” posted a user from Budgam.

Untoo demands immediate suspension of Chief Engineer PDD Kashmir an enquiry should be ordered into this matter. (KDC)
