Srinagar, April 10, KDC: An unidentified militant has been killed while an Army Soldier was injured in the ongoing gunfight with militants in Hatipora area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Saturday evening.
Sources told News Agency KDC that one unidentified militant has been killed while an army soldier was also injured. The soldier has been shifted to hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, the family of a 14 year-old militant who is believed to be trapped in this encounter has been brought to a gunfight site to persuade him to surrender.
The gunfight had ensued after a joint team of Police and army’s 34 RR launched a cordon and search operation in Hadipora amid specific inputs about the presence of some militants.
As the joint team approached the suspected spot inside orchards, the hiding militants fired upon them which was retaliated, triggering off the gunfight. (KDC)
