Pulwama, Apr 02, KDC: Three militants have been killed in an encounter in Ghat Mohalla- Kakapora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday.

Jammu and Kashmir Police in tweet according to news agency—Kashmir Dot Com- (KDC) said that three unidentified militants have been killed in the gunfight.

A police officer said “The militants refused to surrender despite repeated appeals by forces,”.

Earlier, reports reaching to KDC said that a joint team of Police, Army’s 50 RR and CRPF launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in the area on specific information about the presence of militants there.

As soon as the joint team of security forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, which was retaliated, triggering an encounter.

sources said that two civilians were also injured during clashes near the encounter site. both were identified as Ishrat Jan- Bullet injury in right buttock and Ghulam nabi Dar- with pellet injury.

Meanwhile, as a precautionary measure, internet services have been snapped in Pulwama district. (KDC)
