Srinagar, Mar 08, KDC: Srinagar Police on the eve of Women’s Day launched a drive to safeguard women and ensure every possible measure to protect women folk.
While talking to media persons, SSP Srinagar, Dr Haseeb Mughal said that “we have launched the campaign to ensure womenfolk in our city are protected from every kind of indecorous issues”.
Senior police officials including SP East Sheema Nabi, SDPO Kothibagh Farah Nishat, SHO Kothibagh Sajad Asad were present on the occasion.
The police officials pledged to make Srinagar safe for women and create an atmosphere where the women live happily without the challenges like eve teasing and domestic violence.
To create mass awareness among the public regarding the safety of women, the police officials pasted posters on the public transport.
The SSP said that besides establishing a helpline for women where they can register their complaints, ladies police have been deputed in every police station to look into the issues of women. (KDC)
