Srinagar, Mar 01, KDC: Hundreds of Daily-wagers working in Kashmir Power Development Corporation Limited (KPDCL) on Monday staged a strong protest here in Press Enclave Srinagar demanding the government to fulfill their long pending demand of regularization.

One of the protesters Nazir Ahmad while talking to News agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) said that all the files of daily-wager employees of North circle, which have been processed by Chief Engineer’s office to Secretariat for regularization under communication no. CE/KPDCL/11933-34 dated 07-02-202, should be considered at an earliest.

He said that the whole regularization process should be done on the basis of seniority and district wise vacancies in a fair and transparent manner.

Another protester, Mohammad Maqbool told KDC that hundreds of files of KPDCL daily-wagers who have completed seven year service period which is mandatory as per SRO-381 for regularization are lying in the Divisions and Circle offices for the reasons better known to them.

He demanded that all those pending files should be processed to the Chief Engineer’s office as soon as possible so that the genuine demands of these employees will be considered.

Moreover, the protesters were demanding the release of pending wages since 2019 of different accidental cases of employees.

They have appealed Lt. Governor led Jammu and Kashmir administration to consider their genuine demands and take measures to fulfill them as soon as possible. (KDC)
