Srinagar, Feb 12, KDC: Retired IAS officer, Khazir Mohammad Wani on Friday passed away at his Baghat residence in Kashmir capital Srinagar.

According to news agency Kashmir Dot Com- (KDC), Khazir Mohammad Wani son of Mohammad Khalil Wani, resident of Ajas village of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district and was currently residing with his family here at Baghat area of Srinagar.

As per family, he was laid to rest in Srinagar.

He was former Secretary School Education Department, and had served as Chairman Service selection Board (SSB), member Jammu and Kashmir public service Commission (JKPSC) and Director Food, Civil & Supplies Kashmir and various besides other prestigious postings.

After the news of his death broke on social media, people from different walks of life condoled his demise and expressed sympathy with the bereaved family.

“Grieved to learn about the demise of Khazar Mohmmad Wani from Ajas. He lived with respect and dignity.  It is a loss to us all. May his soul rest in eternal peace. My heartfelt condolences to family and friends  bereaved at his departure,” wrote former MLA Bandipora Nizamuddin Bhat on facebook.

Similarly, Apni Party vice President, Usman Majid wrote on social media, “Sorry to hear about the demise of Khazir Mohammad Wani, IAS, former Chairman of JKSSB. My heartfelt condolences to his family & loved ones. May God render peace to the departed soul.” (KDC)
