Bandipora, January 11: Bandipora police on Monday claimed to have solved a theft case and recovered stolen items from the possession of the accused person in Sumbal.
In a statement to news agency KDC police said “Sumbal police acting on a complaint filed by one  shopkeeper namely Mohmad Lateef Mir Son Gh Mohmad Mir R/o Trigam Sumbal, in which he stated that during the intervening night of 09/10 January some unknown persons looted his kiryana shop located in village Trigam and decamped with many kiryana items.”


“Accordingly, Case FIR NO. 03/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered in PS Sumbal and investigation taken up.Acting promptly upon this Case police party headed by SHO PS Sumbal SI Sajad Ahmad and investigating officer ASI Gh Mohmad arrested a person namely Firdous Ahmad Mathanji S/o Mohmad Subhan Mathanji R/o Ashtangoo Bandipora and during questioning he confessed the commission of crime. Upon his confession stolen items were recorded from his possession. Further investigation of the Case is going on,” statement reads.
