Heavy Snowfall: J&K Students Association set up helpline to assist stranded tourists in Kashmir

Srinagar, Jan 06, KDC: In the view of heavy snowfall in Kashmir valley, J&K Students Association on Wednesday established the helpline and circulated it on online platforms to address the issues of Stranded tourists in Kashmir valley.

In a statement issued to press according to news agency KDC, Spokesperson of Association Nasir Khuehami said that Association has set up helpline numbers in every district of Kashmir valley for stranded tourists to seek help during an emergency arising due to heavy snowfall.

He said that the tourists are our guests and we are ready to assist and help them to make them feel at home. It has reaffirmed the pledge to carry forward its mission and help in easing out the problems of the stranded people.

The student organisation has requested the stranded tourists to connect with the available helplines for any exigency, where they can report grievances, issues, problems.

“Also free accommodation for stranded tourists, the stranded tourists need not worry if they are stuck due to flight cancellation or road closure on account of heavy snowfall. Association will assist all stranded tourists for any kind of assistance regarding route clearance updates, accommodation issues, transportation, etc, the tourists can contact helpline numbers for immediate help” he said.

It is especially for those tourists who were scheduled to leave, but could not due to heavy snowfall as flights got delayed from the past many times. .

“Many among them will not have the resources or money to stay in the hotels now, we decided to provide them relief till the weather improves” he added.
