Beerwah, Nov 30, KDC: Locals of Beerwah of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district and adjacent areas on Monday protested against establishment of two new brick kilns in the area.

The agitated locals according to news agency KDC, said that although the Budgam district is famous for its immense brick kilns operating in the different areas, still new kilns are being established which causes inconvenience to the general public.

Locals of Beerwah Budgam and adjacent areas staged a protest against the establishment of two new brick kilns in the area which according to locals will perish the agricultural land and also the horticulture produce.

“Six schools come under the edge of the worst impact of these bricks kilns viz Utligam Higher secondary, Rainpora Middle school, Bonit Middle school, Gampora Middle school and therefore it is great health risk for hundreds of the students studying in these schools, “ said one of the protester.

He said, “The Villages which will experience the worst impact on health, Agricultural and Horticultural activities, include Utligam, Bonit, Gampora and Bapat.”

The protestors demanded an immediate ban on set up of new brick kilns in the area. (KDC)
