After NC and PC, pledges loyalty to third party in a row

Srinagar, Nov 27, KDC: Backed by BJP and Congress in recently held election for the post of Mayor for Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), the newly elected Mayor, Junaid Azam Mattu on Friday formally Friday joined Apni party.
According to news agency Kashmir Dot Com-(KDC) Mattu joined Apni Apni party on Friday afternoon at its office in Sheikh Bagh Srinagar.
Those present at the occasion was the party president Altaf Bukhari, besides various other party leaders.
Earlier in the day rumours were circulating in the city that Junaid, the newly elected Mayor backed by BJP and Congress, a known person for frequently switching sides and changing parties, is yet again mulling to join the lately founded Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP).
Pertinently, Junaid Mattu was initially associated with National Conference and had resigned from NC to join Sajad Lone led people’s conference, citing disagreement over boycott of J-K civic polls Mattu had contested the ULB elections and had become the Mayor of the city.
Peoples Conference recently had disassociated itself from Junaid Matttu.
Junaid once again contested Mayor Elections, held on Tuesday, which he won with 44 votes as against 7 votes bagged by his opponent and former Deputy Mayor SMC, Sheikh Mohammad Imran.
Pertinently in this election, which was marked with violence, allegations and counter allegations, Junaid was backed by BJP and Congress, while NC, PC and PDP alleged that their coporators were manhandled and forcibly stopped from voting at the behest of ruling party clear the way for Junaid Matto to get elected to the chair of City Mayor.
